Following collisions involving over twenty vehicles in nearby Victoria, one character is battling for his life and nineteen others were transported to hospitals around Melbourne.

Because of the pile-up, the Western throughway was stopped in both directions between Bacchus Marsh and Ballan. It occurred at Myrniong, some 58 kilometers west of Melbourne, just before 4 p.m. There was distinct commuter congestion for people driving to Geelong and other parts of western Victoria when that event occurred, which the police have attributed to fog.

After a truck driver lost his life in a collision with a train in Geelong, V/Line services to the city from the capital were suspended, and the West Gate limited-access roadway was closed for about an hour.
Emergency Medical Services Twenty victims from the Myrniong crash were transferred to a health center, including one who was sent to Royal Melbourne hospital in an urgent situation, according to Victoria.
The other 19 had been transferred in critical condition to Footscray Health Facility, Royal Melbourne, Ballarat Base Clinic, and Sunshine Medical Institution.
